How Jesus Loves You

April 9, 2006
Leviticus 16
Dr. Roger Ferguson, Sr. Pastor

THEME: Jesus' death on the cross was no accident. All through the Old Testament God showed how sacrifice was needed for your sin to be forgiven. When Jesus died on the cross, He finished the work of salvation. When you ask Christ to forgive your sin, you are free and honor Him with your choices and you have a home in heaven.

I. The Day of Atonement celebrates God cleansing His people from their sin.
1. The High Priest is the bridge between God and His people. (Leviticus 16:3)
2. The scapegoat carries away the sin of people. (Leviticus 16: 7, 20)

II. Jesus is your scapegoat. (John 19)
1. The work of salvation is finished.
2. We live in victory because of Jesus.

Make it practical:

Christianity is not rules, it is relationship. God did everything in Christ for you to be forgiven of sin and free to live life to the fullest honoring Him. To refuse forgiveness is reprehensible and unforgivable.

Have you . . . . . . .

1. Truly asked God to forgive your sin and lead your life?
Yes____ No ____
2. Asked God to refresh your soul and remind you of His love.
Confess any sin that may be blocking you from God.
3. Pray and invite people to Easter Sunday and serve so that others may hear the Gospel.
