How Jesus Dealt with the Satisfied

Mark 10:17-27
THEME: A young successful man approached Jesus and asked the real question. Jesus loved the young man and saw his deepest need. The man left Jesus when Christ extended grace the man rejected it. The issue for all of us is will we follow Jesus and receive eternal life or “go away sad” from Jesus.
I. People who overcome seek clarity. (Mark 10:17-18)
4-T test to clarify you God:
What do you THINK about; TALK about, and where do you spend your TIME and TREASURE?
“Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have you fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” Haggai 1:5-6
II. You have a need ONLY JESUS can fill
Everything-JESUS=nothing
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
III. Jesus calls you to RELEASE what enslaves you so that you may RECEIVE all that Jesus is an has. (Mark 10: 22-27)
What is IMPOSSIBLE for us, Jesus DID for us. (Mark 10:23-27)
“For the wages of sin Is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
Where do you stand with God?
The rich young ruler asked the right question of Jesus. In his shame he refused Jesus’ offer of eternal life. Christ will clarify what is valuable. Are you following Jesus or walking away from Him?
1. Have you trusted in Christ alone for your salvation?
2. What occupies your “4-T’s” above? If not Jesus, why not?
3. Thank God for sending Jesus for you, drawing you to Himself by the Holy Spirit and giving you grace for eternity. To God above be the glory!
