Who Is Jesus? His Mercy & His Majesty

Matthew 8:1-4; Revelation 1:12-18

THEME: Jesus is the most famous person of history? Do we know Him?
He welcomed innocent children. He rebuked arrogant religion. He could not be controlled. He is perfect love. Today we start a series of messages on the person and work of Jesus. All of us will face Jesus as our Redeemer or our judge. Which will it be for you?

I. The mercy of Jesus gives us a fresh start we don't deserve . (Matt 8:1-4)

1. Tomorrow's victory swings on the hinges of today's obedience.

"Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV

II. The majesty of Jesus reminds us He will prevail over every obstacle . (Rev. 1:12-18)

1. God's goal is for you to be like Jesus.

"But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap. Malachi 3:2 NASB

2. Christ assures you when you thought it was hopeless,
He is doing something great.

Now act on what you've heard! The Bible says "be doers of the Word and not hearers only".

1. If Jesus is not number one, what are you going to do about it?

2. Where is God placing His hand in your life? Give it to Him!

3. When Jesus looks at your calendar and checkbook, what does He say?
