Vision Day: The DNA of FBCO

"Vision Day: The DNA of FBCO" Acts 2:42-47

Dr. Roger Ferguson, Sr. Pastor January 8, 2006

THEME: God crafted the human body in a marvelous way.

No computer is as intricate as your brain. No

machine has the dexterity of your hand. Driving it

all is an unseen genetic code called DNA that God

wired just for you. The human body is a visual

image of His spiritual body, the church. Jesus

created the church & His DNA is to permeate all we do.

Today we talk about His vision for FBCO and

your part in it. Are you helping or hurting Jesus and

His body?

1. The DNA of Jesus' body, His church

1. Transformational preaching and

teaching. (Acts 2:42)

2. Caring and welcoming

fellowship. (Acts 2:42-46)

3. Christ exalting worship and prayer .

(Acts 2:42-43)

4. Sharing Christ with the lost and

assimilating them into the body of

Christ. (Acts 2:47)

II. To keep FBCO healthy we must

each . . . . .

1. Prioritize worship, preaching, and

teaching for growth .

2. Plug into ministry to make a

difference .

3. Deepening ourselves with personal

ownership of His vision.

4. Enfolding people into Christ and

small groups.

". . . . I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never
walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12 NIV

"Don't hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and
let it shine for all. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out
for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."

Matthew 5:15-16

Make it practical

1. If you are a Christ-follower, what has God spoken to you about?

2. What will you do with what God has said to you?

3. What keeps you from asking Christ to forgive your sin and be the
Leader of your life?

4. Pray for full devotion to Christ and His church by all who follow
Christ today.
