Inside the Prayer Life of Jesus Part 2

Luke 11:5-13

THEME: Jesus followers noticed the difference prayer made as Jesus talked with his Awesome Abba. Jesus gave the model prayer and then explained the
character of Abba God. If God is your Abba, he is eager to hear from you!

I. Jesus teaches us to pray KNOWING

God hears and cares. (Luke 11:5-8)

1. Pray SPECIFICALLY .

PRAISE & THANKS
REPENTANCE
ANYTHING ELSE
YOURSELF

2. Pray PERSISTENTLY.

PRAY
UNTIL
SOMETHING
HAPPENS

II. God BURDENS your heart and then moves you to ACTION.
(Luke 11:9-10)

1. ASK God for GUIDANCE

"You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God."
(James 4:2)

2. SEARCH for God's activity. "Seek"

3. PERSEVERANCE beyond closed doors. "Knock"

III. Prayer is based on God's CHARACTER, not your ability . (Luke11:11-13)

1. If the request is wrong, God says "NO".

2. If the timing is wrong, God says "SLOW" .

3. If you are wrong, God says "GROW"

4. If the request, timing and you are right, God says "GO!"

Make it practical:

1. What are you going to do with what you've learned today?

2. God eagerly waits to love and speak to you through prayer. Where
will you meet Him for prayer daily?
