Unwrapping Spiritual Gifts

Romans 12:1-9

Theme: God impacts the world by using Christians who use their spiritual gifts in ministry. God equips you to change your world. How are you deploying the spiritual gifts He has sovereignly and supernaturally given you?
Spiritual gifts are supernaturally given by God to strengthen His Church. (Romans 12:1-3)
1. We are interdependent on each other.
(Romans 12:1-2)
2. The fruit of the Holy Spirit indicates healthy employment of spiritual gifts. (Romans 12: 3-5)
The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
Description of spiritual gifts:
1. Prophecy (preaching) is proclaiming God’s truth causing a response. (V. 6)
2. Service is meeting needs in Jesus’ name. (V. 7)
3. Teaching is communicating God’s truth to strengthen Christians. (V.7)
4. Exhortation is encouraging others with words and actions. (V. 8)
5. Giving is generous, cheerful and right on time. (V. 8)
6. Leadership is organizing and inspiring Christians to do great things for God. (V.8)
7. Mercy is seeing and helping the hurting in healthy ways. (V. 8)
How do I discover my spiritual gifts?
1. Personal fulfillment and pleasing God.
2. Public affirmation .
Think it over:
Have you trusted Christ as Savior? Have you followed Him in the first step of believer’s baptism?
Can you name your spiritual gifts?
How are you using you spiritual gifts in ministry?
