Theme: God has some incredible things in store for FBCO! What FBCO is corporately is a result of what all of us is individually. Today we will see the three types of people and what God desires for each of us. What is God's opinion of you?
I. The natural person does not value the things of God.
I Corinthians 2:14)
II. The spiritual person makes wise choices because they value the things of God.
I Corinthians 2:15-16
1. The spiritual man grows in prayer and the Word.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."
James 1:5
"Your commands make me wiser than my enemies for they are ever with me. I have more insight than all my teachers for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts."
Psalm 119:98-100
2. The spiritual man seeks accountability.
"Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance."
Proverbs 1:5
III. The carnal person knows Christ but focuses on the lies of Satan rather than the truth of God.
I Corinthians 3:1-3
1. Carnal choose immaturity. (I Corinthians 3:1-2)
2. Carnal are selfish. (I Corinthians 3:3)
IV. Four steps to a spirit-filled life:
1. Realize your need. I Corinthians 13:11
2 Repent of your ways. Revelation 2:5
3. Release your rights. Romans 12:12
4. Receive God's power. Acts 1:8
Make it practical:
1. What needs to change in you to live a spirit-filled life?
2. Pray FBCO will always be Christ-centered and never self-centered.
