August 12, 2007
Dr Roger Ferguson, Sr. Pastor

Theme: At times the most familiar Scriptures are the least understood. God wants you to know Him and he uses the metaphor of sheep and a shepherd to describe our relationship. Are you following the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ?

I. Fear comes from a threat and we need a guide to get us through.
Psalm 23:4

II. Death is inevitable so prepare for it.
Psalm 23:4

“And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27 NASB

Turn to James 4:13-14

III. Christ conquered death: follow Him.
Psalm 23:4

“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of departure has come.”
2 Timothy 4:6 NASB

Prepare your loved ones for death by:
A. Living a life that honors God.
B. Tell your loved ones what they mean to you now.
C. Write a letter to your family to be read at your death.
D. Plan for your funeral and write out your service.First Baptist Church Owasso
