What Really Matters

Theme: God is good! He can change any life because God is love. He will use painful things to draw us to Himself. God is patient. God leaves us on earth to tell others of His mercy and grace.

I. Plan A: God reasons with us to bring us to Himself and reality.
(Daniel 4:19-27)

1. God both warns and woos us.

"Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord, Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."
Isaiah 1:18

II. Plan B: God brings judgment to bring us to Himself and reality.
(Daniel 4:28-33)

"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall."
Proverbs 16:18

III. Live the rest of this life to honor Christ.
(Daniel 4:34-37)

1. Humility is exalting God and helping others.

"The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
2 Peter 3:9

2. Share your story of Christ in you

(A) My life before Jesus.

(B) How God got my attention and changed me.

(C) My life since meeting Christ.

Think it over:
1. How is God working to get your attention? Are you listening?
2. Have you trusted Christ as Savior and Lord and turned from sin?
3. How does God want to use you today to honor Him?
