Luke 15:11-24

THEME: Someone said "There's no place like home." When you come from a healthy home, you treasure relationships and value time together. The same is true of God. When we get distracted or anxious, we may think there is a better way than God's way. No way! Come home to God through Jesus today.
I. Steps away from God's blessing:
1. Restless attitude: "I know better!"
2. Reckless living: "Do what I please!"
3. Ruined life: No satisfaction!!
"Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest."
Galatians 6:7
II. Steps toward God's heart and home:
1. Realize God is perfect and compassionate to you.
"God's understanding produces favor, but the way of the transgressor is hard."
Proverbs 13:15
2. Repent and turn from sin.
"A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise."
Psalm 51:17
3. Run home to God.
"Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God for He is gracious and compassionate."
Joel 2:13
Make it personal:
1. Have you asked Jesus to forgive your sin and be the leader of the life he gave you?
2. How you treat Jesus' church at FBCO shows what you really believe about God?
"At Home but Absent"
Luke 15:25-32

I. Traits of a pouting prodigal.
1. An angry attitude of grumbling .
2. An inflated sense of goodness .
3. A faulty understanding of grace.
II. God's message to the pouter in each of us:
"Search me, O God, and know my hear; test me and know my anxious thoughts.. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
Psalm 139:23-24
1. "I treasure our intimacy more than your work."
2. "You have access to all my resources"
3. "It's my party so come join me."
