I Am the Resurrection and Life.. Trust Me

Theme: Several times in Jesus' ministry He equated Himself with God by using "I am" statements. In today's "I am" statement Jesus is strengthening trust in His followers while working a miracle in His time and in His way. Are you following Jesus wherever He leads?

I. The compelling love of Jesus causes

Him to act in ways that strengthens

Christians and reaches the lost and glorify God.

III. How to fortify your faith:

1. Guard your heart.

"Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life."
Proverbs 4:23 (NASB)

II. Internalize Scripture until you live it.

"let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak,and slow to anger."
James 1:19 (NASB)

"Whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. These things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things and the God of peace will be with you."
Philippians 4:8-9

III. Partner with God to fulfill His purpose. (John 11:38-46)

"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."
Romans 10:9-10

Make it practical
1. Think about one difficult situation you are facing. How can God's love work through you to reach the lost, strengthen Christians and glorify God?
2. Will you memorize and apply James 1:19 and Philippians 4:8 until they are your first response?
3. Have you asked Jesus to forgive your sin and be the Leader of your life?
