Theme: Often we are faced with huge challenges. Any challenge that drives us to our knees is good! For on our knees we pray and see the greatness of God and His task for us. Are you ready to do whatever it takes? God will do his part and He welcomes you to partner with Him for His glory and our good.
I. Look through the facts until you see God's truth. (2 Chronicles 20:5-7)
1. Pray promise centered, not problem centered prayers.
2. Be an intercessor for others.
Five Fingers of Prayer
1. Thumb-Purpose, thanks, and repentence
2. Pointer-Leaders
3. Middle-Relationships
4. Ring-the weak
5. Pinkie-self
II. Barriers to praying with power.
1. Tolerating sin and neglecting personal holiness.
"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
Hebrews 3:13
2. Satanic opposition.
3. God's "big picture" purpose.
"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this."
Psalm 37:4-5
III. Surrender to God, not your circumstances.
Make it practical
In the next 24 hours do something to take ownership of the truth of God.
1. Pray using the "5 fingers" on your way to work or school.
2. Plan to be an intercessor in New Community at 6:00PM today to pray for others and God's glory.
3. Are you problem-centered or promise centered?
4. Have you asked Christ to forgive your sin and be your life's leader?
