Vision Day: Write It On your Heart
August 27, 2006
Habakkuk 2:1-4
Dr. Roger Ferguson
Theme: Vision is understanding the current situation and making the right choices to bring a better life, church and world. God's vision for FBCO is what He created and put us together to fulfill. Like Habakkuk we must understand the vision and commit our efforts to glorify God and care for people. Are you aware of what God desires and dedicated to make it reality?
I. Umbrella Vision: "Leading people to become fully devoted followers of Christ"
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe."
Acts 2:42-43a
II. Make it your passion to build a Christ-honoring culture through FBCO.
1. Love God: Worship and learn together.
a. Corporate worship and small groups (Sunday School, etc.)
b. All tithe and support "Imagine."
2. Love others: By service with a grateful heart. (Habakkuk 3:16-19) Best Fall Festival ever October 31st. Family Reunion on November 5th.
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Galatians 6:9-10
3. Serve the world: By sharing Christ, missions, and prayer.
"In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
Luke 15:10
Make it personal this week:
1. Memorize the Vision Statement of First Baptist Owasso
2. "Sneeze for Jesus" to someone daily.
3. Have will you grow in love for God, love for others and serving the
world?
4. Have you asked Christ to save you and then followed Him in baptism?
