I Am the Vine. Let Me Support You

John 15:5-11

Theme: Within hours of His crucifixion, Jesus picked up a grapevine and explained His relationship to us. The universe is a vineyard. God is the owner of the vineyard (vinedresser). Jesus is the vine. Christians are the branches. Jesus produces His fruit through us. Are you abiding in Christ?

I. Jesus is the reason for all good things and we abide in Him.
(John 15:4-6)

1. “Abide” means to trust and obey Christ anything else is foolish.
(John 15:5)

2. To bear no spiritual fruit indicates no life.
(John 15:6)

II. Picture of an abiding Christian.

1. Obey God and leave the consequences to Him.

2. God will _move Heaven and earth to reveal Himself and His will.

3. God will provide all your needs .

4. Fight your battle in prayer and then live in victory.
(John 15:7-11)

III. Spiritual fruit Christ bears through an abiding Christian

1. Answered prayer that glorifies God.
(John 15:7-8a)

2. Prove to be Jesus’ disciple.
(John 15:8b)

3. You experience Jesus’ love.
(John 15:9-10)

4. Your joy will be full.
(John 15:11)

Make it practical:
1. Be honest. Have you trusted Jesus as your Forgiver and Leader. Why not now?
2. Are you abiding in Christ or living for a lie?
3. Thank God that He will produce His fruit through your life.
