THEME: On Father's Day we honor the dads and granddads who do so much for us. Today we will learn 3 gifts a dad can give his child all year round. God, our Heavenly Father, values you and only through Christ can you know God and truly love your family.

I. Gift #1:

Discover the Direction God wants your child to go. (Proverbs 20:4-5)

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
Proverbs 22:6

II. Gift #2:

Give your child security that you can be trusted. Proverbs 20:16

1. Cherish your wife and resolve conflict.

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her."

"However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself,
and the wife must respect her husband."
Ephesians 5:25,33

III. Gift #3:

Give your child value through:

1. Protection from threats

2. Affection for who they are.

"Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."
Ephesians 6:4

Make it practical
Sometime today reflect on the following:
1. Express gratitude to your dad and granddad(s) in a way they will appreciate.
2. Dads, give your family an example to follow because you follow Christ.
3. Thank God, our Heavenly Father, for welcoming you to Himself through Jesus Christ.
